Wait, who is charlie brown?
50% mascot. 50% angel.
100% good boy.
Charles Barnaby Brown McCall-Hirschy (b. 2020) — most commonly referred to as “Charlie Brown” — is CBCC’s namesake. He is our No. 1 cheerleader and one of our primary motivating forces. He is a 3-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who greets all creatures with curiosity, excitement, and an open mind.
We draw inspiration from Charlie Brown’s boundless energy, his joy and sense of wonder, and his endless ability to love. (Don’t forget his loves for snacks and naps.)
In short, we want to be more like Charlie Brown in almost everything we do.
It’s why we named the club after him.
Adopted from Lu’s Labs, a DC-area Labrador rescue, in September 2020, Charlie Brown’s name is an homage to the classic Peanuts character created by Charles Schulz. Alexander and Matt grew up reading the Peanuts comic strip with their moms, and they still often reflect on the timeless wisdom and friendship illustrated in its stories.
